Los Angeles based performer
Meet Mireya
Mireya Zoé Nevel (she/her) is a powerhouse Mexican-American actor and multidisciplinary artist graduating from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where she fell in love with storytelling as both craft and activism. She is drawn to work that is bold, playful, and grounded in heart, having performed in department productions such as Xanadu (Kira), Emma: No One But Herself (Harriet), and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (Ensemble, Sonya Understudy).
Alongside musical theater, she also works in straight plays and film, and is rooted in creating and performing stories for people of color, by people of color. She has been part of the development of several original works, including Parallel Park, Daydreamer, and The Mendozas Storm the Capitol, which explore the Latin American and Chicano experience through bilingualism and contemporary, community-driven storytelling. This passion extends to her academics, as she will be completing an additional minor in Chicana and Chicano Studies.
Beyond performance, she loves teaching theater, dance, and voice to young students in her hometown, believing arts education builds early confidence, compassion, and connection.
She will make her regional debut in In the Heights (Ensemble, Vanessa Understudy) at Musical Theatre West this spring.
